2012 Club Membership

The Management Committee has decided to extend the membership of every 2011 Member through to 31 December 2012 - free of charge.  This is a good will gesture to all Members in recognition of the inconvenience this Council resolution/situation has caused us all.

The Club's constitution allows the Management Committee to make this decision; and the Club's good financial position allows us to carry it out.  After all, the Club exists for the benefit of it's Members.

Once the Club is operational again (current expectation is March 2012) we will accept new Members.  Please refer to the Membership page for 2012 prices, and revised membership structure.

For all 2011 Members who wish to take up this offer of extended 2012 membership.  Attend the Canteen when we re-open or hold a Working Bee - Complete a special 2012 extended membership form - Hand your old membership card in, and receive a new 2012 membership card.  if you've lost your 2011 membership card; please advise us at the time, and your name will be checked against the membership list.

In the interim, if your license is up for renewal and you need to have membership confirmed for the MQ paperwork.  Send an e-mail to admin@stanmoremx.com.au requesting membership confirmation, and we will reply.  You will then be able to print the e-mail, and send to MQ with your license renewal.

The Management Committee met with Council Represenatives on 21/12/11 to discuss the necessary work required to be able to re-open the facility.  This will be achieved in 2 stages described below; and progress in line with the Council set timetable (link below).

9/1/12 - the Mgmt Com'tee met with Council Reps and agreed to draft track plans (see links on this home page)

23/1/12 - the Mgmt Com'tee met with Council Reps and formailsed Stage 1 track plans and timetable for completion (rain/weather permitting).

8/2/12 - the Mgmt Com'tee met with Council Reps, signed off Stage 1 track plans, and agreed to the extent of the new noise barrier that will be part of Stage 2.  Council contractors will commence excavation works on Monday 13/2 in order to lower the track in front of the canteen area.  This works is scheduled to take 2 weeks, and when completed, the Club will re-instate the track and irrigation lines through the excavated area.

Stage 1 will necessitate a temporary track reconfigeration in areas that are deemed to cause too much noise to escape from the facility.  When these works are completed, it's expected that Council will allow the Club to recommence practice days - but not competition race days.

Stage 2 will necessitate a comprehensive track reconfigeration, including the relocation of the start gates & score tower (and maybe other structures).  When these works are completed, it's expected that Council will allow the Club to recommence competition racing.
