Working Bee: It was intended to hold a working bee this Saturday (28/1/12) to move tyres & track watering sprinkler heads from certain areas of the track - in preperation for Council earthmoving contractors to commence major excavation works on Mon 6/2/12. However the rain has soaked the ground, and we will be unable to get trucks, bobcats and mini excavators onto the track for this work.
The working bee is rescheduled for Sat 4 Feb from 7.00am to approx midday; and Members are invited to come along and assist with this project.
We also need wippersnipping, mowing and a rubbish bin pick up around the track areas; so please bring a wippersnipper or mower along.
In return, the Club will provide a sausage sizzle and drinks. 2011 Members will also have the opportunity renew their (free) 2012 membership, and pick up a new membership card.
Please note - 1. We will not be accepting any new Members until the Club is operational (expected to be in March). 2. As the Club is not operational (and not producing income), we will not be offering free ride tickets for people attending this working bee.
General Meeting. The first meeting for 2012 will be held on Wed 18/1 at 7.30pm at the Showmans Club, Stanmore Rd, Yatala. Please refer to the Meeting page for new 2012 meeting structure, and Monthly meeting cycle (generally 2nd Wed of the Month).
Club Constitution. The constitution document has been linked to the web site for the information of all Members.
#00 Standards motorcycle & fitness training is running a 5hr MX school at QLD Moto Park (Wyaralong) on Wednesday 18 January. The school costs $100 plus track fee. If you would like to book, please call Nathan on 0401 812 125 or email coach@nathancrawford.com.au

AGM
The 2011 Management Committee made an error in judgement in bringing the AGM forward from it's scheduled date of Tue 6/12 to Sat 3/12. We should have delayed the AGM by a week instead (to accomodate Committee members work commitments). The 2011 Management Committee sincerely apologise to all members for taking this course of action.
This situation was reported to MQ by many members; and MQ has informed the Management Committee that the meeting was unconstitutional and the decisions of the meeting, including the result of an election for Office Bearers, is not correct.
As notification of the AGM was not in accordance with the Clubs Constitution; the outcome is deemed invalid. Therefore the 2011 Management Committee is still the elected represenatives of the Club (now in caretaker role) until an official AGM determines the 2012 Management Committee.
An AGM will be called for 9.00am Saturday 31 December 2011 at Stanmore Park. Further information regarding the AGM will be forthcoming as soon as the Club is officially advised of the Councils plan and timetable for allowing the Club to re-open. This information is expected by Fri 16/12. For members wishing to nominate for a position, or vote at the meeting; relevant information will be provided on this web site when Council has advised plan/timetable.
Results for round 10 and 2011 overall have been posted to the web site
A technical issue has been rectified, and the Web Site is now back on-line.
Club & Lease Update: Please refer to the Gold Coast Bulletin Newspaper (Tue 6/12) for good news on the future of Stanmore Park. When further details are released to the Club by Council, the web site will be updated.
At this stage, we cannot determine if the track will be open this weekend, or not.
As the Club uses this web site as the primary means of communication to members, it will be updated as often as necessary to keep members informed. However information will not be posted to the site until confirmed in writing, or if its a " work in progress" situation.
Committee meeting & AGM has been re-scheduled to Saturday 3/12, at 10.00 at Stanmore Park; due to the unavailability of key members next week on Tue 6/12 (original date).
Lease Update. This afternoon, we received the following information from GCCC. Councillors voted in a "closed meeting" on Mon 28/11 to; (a) Confirm that Stanmore Park will close on 30 Nov as previously directed; (b) That the Reedy Creek facility will close on 14 December; (c) That Council will hold another meeting on Mon 5/12 to determine their position on the proposed Stapylton MX Facility.
This outcome is contrary to our genuine understanding from Council, that neither facility would be closed until a replacement facility is operational. The ADMC management committee is working through available options for the continued use of Stanmore Park until this occurs. This web site will be updated as the situation develops.
If you are a Gold Coast resident (in particular, Division 1) - now is the time to contact your local Councillor and complain about the poor and unjust treatment dealt out to the members of our Club; and the motocross community in general. Be smart with your e-mail, fax, phone call or letter (not abusive), and let them know that you're a voter and MX rider (and that you can influence the vote of other like minded people in the Gold Coast area as well). Council elections are scheduled for March 2012.
CHRISTMAS PARTY AND CLUB CHAMPION PRESENTATIONS
Now that the 2011 club race season is finished it is time to celebrate and present series awards
The function will be held on Sunday 4th December. Select this link to open the flyer for full details.
Club Supplementary Regulations state that a competitor must compete in 60% of the scheduled club days to be eligible for an end of year award (e.g. 6 of the 10 race days). However at the management committee's discretion, we've relaxed this to 5 of the 10 race days.
The track will be closed for Practice this weekend 3/4 December (to allow the Committee & Officials to organise this Function).
Practice this Weekend: Sat 26/11 - Junior Day. Sun 27/11 - Senior Day. Please read below for who can and can't ride on Junior days.

Round 10 of the 2011 club race series is coming on Sunday 13 November. The track will be prepped as usual, and truckloads of sand has been spread through most of the corners to give a different and fresh feel to the track.
The working bee will kick off at 7am this Saturday morning (12 November). It's important to be there ready to go at 7am so we can get stuck in and be gone from the track ASAP. If you are unable to get there until 8am or later, ensure you have weed trimmers and/or mowers as other tasks will be allocated and well under way. Remember your weed trimmers, rakes, shovels etc and plenty of energy.
As always, those that commit a minimum of 2 hours work will be issued a practice pass and allowed to pre-nominate for the race day, meaning you will register early ensuring you are in before the class fills up. This is costly to the club and is offered to show our appreciation for those that help out but be warned, this will be heavily enforced so if you stand around chatting or roping off your pit area, and basically don’t contribute; you will receive neither.
Do not rope off huge areas of land for you and your friends on the working bee day. If you work during the working bee, you are entitled to rope off sufficient area for your car/trailer and pit tent. Pit areas on race days at most tracks is a first in best dressed deal, so roping off large areas of land for friends etc, can cause issues....
This has been working well and we will continue with the same process each race day. Keeping the track damp is a very important job to keep the dust down not only for the residents but also to keep the riding conditions top notch. The hand watering system is getting better and better all the time with the latest addition being old fire hoses that are longer than the previous ones and also can handle a fair bit more water, making the job quicker and easier to manage throughout the day.
The volunteer system will be heavily enforced and there will be no second chance. Basically, any rider of the allocated class that presents their entry at registration without a volunteer available to sign in will find that their ENTRY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The only exceptions to this will be for riders (or the riders parent) that contribute in the everyday running of the club i.e. Committee members, officials, regular workers (gate starters, canteen workers, scorers etc).
The volunteer timetable is split into 3 two hour sessions: 9-11am, 11am-1pm and 1pm to 3pm with the predominant task being watering. If you have difficulty bringing someone along, consider teaming up with a rider from a different class (i.e. open or vets) whose race is in the latter half of the Moto. They can do the first part of your session while you race, and you can do the later while they race. In return, you can do the same for them when their class is scheduled on the volunteer roster. Some of us have had to do this at other clubs to ensure we fulfilled our commitment.
Whipping over the finish line. While we don't want to stifle your riding talents, huge whips across the finish line make it very difficult for the people in the score tower to see your number. So be mindful of this if you want to be scored in the right position/place. Also, please keep you number plates clean, and make sure your back number is large and visible.

ADMC/Stapylton sub committee. Gold Coast Council has requested the Club provide them with input in relation to the proposed Stapylton MX facility. This input to Council does not alter the Club's position on continued tenure at Stanmore Park, or alternately a "stand alone" MX facility for the Club. This sub committee has 3 members (selected 2/8/11 at the general meeting), and we are seeking a 4th person for the committee. If you're interested and have skills applicable to the process of setting up a new MX facility; please e-mail admin@stanmoremx.com.au with a brief outline of your position. Applicants will be short listed, and a sub committee member will get in touch with you.

Weekend Practice Days
Junior Day is for all Juniors riders (under 16). Riding sessions are 15 minutes long, and are usually grouped - 50/65cc, 85/150cc, 125/250cc, Parents/Vets>45.
The Parents/Vets group on Junior days is to accomodate Parents of Junior riders that are actually riding, Veteren Riders over 45 years, and senior Female riders. All other senior riders are not eligible to ride on Junior Day (exceptions made for committee members who give their time to run the Club). The intent of this Parent/Vets class is to accomodate recreationally minded riders - if you're fast and competitive, then ride on senior day. Also, we've raised the Vets age to 45, as too many 38 to 40 years olds were requesting special consideration. Quite simply, the day is for Juniors, their Parents and recreationally minded older Vets.
Senior Day is for all Senior riders (16 years and over). Riding sessions are controlled at the entry area to the start gates.
When you're ready for a ride, line up in this area. When a rider (on the track) exits the track, the next rider in line will be permitted to enter the track. This system allows riders to ride as long or short as they like, and ensures a good turn over of riders.
However, if you've been riding on the track for awhile, don't pull to the side of the track for a rest, then continue your ride. This only blocks other riders from entering the track to have a ride (we have to manage the numbers on the track). If you want to do a lot of riding, that's ok - do as many laps as you like, come off for a short break, then line up again to go back on when your turn comes around. If riders continue to take rests on the side of the track - we will have no option but to red flag them off the track when they come past the finish line.
Practice this Weekend. Saturday 11th - Senior Day. Sunday 12th - Junior Day (see explanation above). Monday 13th - Closed. If Sunday is rained out as predicted, we may run Junior Day on Monday 13th (keep an eye on this web site for any up-dates).
Practice this Weekend: Saturday 4th - Junior Day (incl Parents, Vets>40 & Snr Females). Sunday 5th - Senior Day. The track will be be touched up with a Bobcat prior to weekend.
CLUB RACE DAY
Round 4 of the 2011 Club race series is this coming Sunday, May 29th.
WORKING BEE
The working bee will kick off at 7am this Saturday morning (28th May). It is important to be there ready to go at 7am so we can get stuck in and be gone from the track ASAP. If you are unable to get there until 8am or later, ensure you have weed trimmers and/or mowers as other tasks will be allocated and well under way. Remember your weed trimmers, rakes, shovels etc and plenty of energy.
As always, those that commit a minimum of 2 hours work will be issued a practise pass and allowed to pre-nominate for the race day, meaning you will register early ensuring you are in before the class fills up. This is costly to the club and is offered to show our appreciation for those that help out but be warned, this will be heavily enforced so if you stand around chatting or basically don’t contribute, you will receive neither.
VOLUNTEER CLASS
The volunteer class for Sunday 29th May;
2011 ROUND 4 VOLUNTEERS: MINI LITES 12 – 15 A&B Grade only (NOT C Grade)
The volunteer timetable is split into 3 two hour sessions: 9-11am, 11am-1pm and 1pm to 3pm with the predominant task being watering. If you have difficulty bringing someone along, consider teaming up with a rider from a different class (i.e. open or vets) whose race is in the latter half of the Moto. They can do the first part of your session while you race, and you can do the later while they race. In return, you can do the same for them when their class is scheduled on the volunteer roster. Some of us have had to do this at other clubs to ensure we fulfilled our commitment.
Please note however, it is your responsibility to source a volunteer, the club

WORKING BEE
On 7am Saturday morning we will kick off the weekend with the race day working bee. There is a fair bit to be done so we will need as many hands on deck as possible. The focus will be on reinstalling and tidying up the tyre walls, replacing the sun damaged safety screening around the dams and various parts of the track, sprinkler testing and repairs, track watering and weed trimming. Come along armed with weed trimmers, rakes, shovels and a good dose of enthusiasm to ensure we start the year with a big shot of ‘awesome’.

Track Closed Sat 22 Jan - Due to heavy localised rain around Stanmore, the track is too boggy to ride on Sat. We will assess Saturday afternoon and make a call for Sunday. If dry enough on Sat a/noon, we may be able to get a Bobcat to tidy the track up for Sun. The web site & track phone will be up-dated Sat afternoon.

CLUB RACE DAY UPDATE – NOVEMBER 2010
Here we are at the end of 2010 and have decided that this Sunday November 14 will be the final round for 2010. We did consider running an extra round to make up for the one we lost but that would have meant changing the Christmas party date... and we would need a miracle to make it happen so close to the event. Keep an eye on your inbox for the Christmas invite over the next few days.
The race day working bee will kick off at 7am this Saturday morning (November 13), bring along your rakes, shovels, spades etc and help get everything spic and span for race day.
RACE DAY UPDATES
The riders briefing is usually the place to bring up rules, requirements and concerns however there are a few things popping up consistently so thought it was time to include them in this race day reminder.
· Spectators must remain in the pit area at all times. The section around the first corner and along the back straight is out of bounds to anyone other than officials.
· In field area is restricted to officials only. The only exception is with the Div 1 class where we allow parents to assist. Please note that other children must not enter the track with the parents.
· If you wish to use a pit board, you will have to find a place behind the fence in the spectator area, you are not to enter the track.
· If you are on a bike, you must wear a helmet. This includes parents riding their kid’s bikes in the pits. If you do not have a helmet, you are required to walk the bike.
OFFICIALS NEEDED
As you would be aware, the last race day had to be cancelled due to sickness and a family emergency for different officials. It is imperative we have more members become actively involved with the Club and take on administrative and committee roles. Just 3 or 4 more people would give us back up for these unplanned situations and lighten the load on current Officials and committee members by sharing the work around. We would love to hear from you and we won’t dump you in the deep end... taken one step at a time it is all easy.

CONGRATULATIONS
I don’t get too much news regarding results away from the club but here is one definitely worth a mention. Kayla Maher competed in all three rounds of the Go Girls series and came away with the overall win in Div 2! Well done Kayla
If you have any results you would like me to mention, email them into the club
DO YOU KNOW A FIREMAN?
We are looking to acquire some old fire hoses to use around the track – the black ones off the reels that get replaced every few years. Our upgraded watering system is great and we would like to complement it with some extra hoses. If you are able to assist, please email myself at briansimpson@y7mail.com or Paul Hart via admin@stanmoremx.com.au
VOLUNTEER CLASS
The last couple of race days have been very easy with the rain keeping the dust under control for the better part of the day. The forecast for this weekend suggests more of the same however we need to be prepared so the volunteer class for round 9, Sunday 14th November is;
· Senior Lites – C Grade (NOTE: C grade only)
The track conditions are definitely better now that the upgraded watering system allows us to water through the day rather than drench the track beforehand. The volunteer will be allocated a task with the priority being watering.
Be aware the volunteer system will be heavily enforced and there will be no second chance. Basically, any rider of the allocated class that presents their entry at registration without a volunteer available to sign in will find that their ENTRY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The only exceptions to this will be for riders (or the rider parent) that contribute in the everyday running of the club i.e. Committee members, officials, regular workers (gate starters, canteen workers, scorers etc).
The volunteer timetable is split into 3 two hour sessions: 9-11am, 11am-1pm and 1pm to 3pm with the predominant task being watering. Some of us have had to do this at other clubs to ensure we fulfilled our commitment.
Please note however, it is your responsibility to source a volunteer, the club will not do it for you.
Sunday MX Racing at Stanmore is cancelled due to a lack of Officials.
Due to illness and a family emergency we don't have the necessary MA Licensed Officials to run the scheduled meeting this Sunday 24 October.
The ADMC Management Committee regret that we have to do this; however it highlights our desperate need for more members to become actively involved with the Club, and take on administrative and committee roles. If just 3 or 4 more people could take on this responsibility and become licensed, we would have a enough back up for these unplanned situations. This would also lighten the load on current Officials and committee members by sharing the work between more people. Please contact Paul Hart, or anyone on the committee if you would like to assist in future.
We wish Sue a speedy recovery, and our condolences to Dolly and her family.
The track will not be open this weekend for practice or racing.
CLUB RACE DAY – ROUND 9
The year is disappearing fast with this Sunday October 24 being the penultimate round for 2010. The working bee will kick off at the 7am Saturday morning (October 23), bring along your rakes, shovels, spades etc and help get everything in place for race day.

A Quicksilver wallet has been found at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. There is no money in it, but a note inside indicates that it belongs to a Stanmore member. If this is your wallet and you'd like it back, call Paul on 0411 756 193 for details on how to collect it.
Thank you to everyone who showed interest in assisting the club in the running of Saturday practice days. The positions have now been filled.

There are are incentives for your input and effort, and over time, you may like to become a licensed Official and contribute further to the Club. CLUB RACE DAY – ROUND 8
The working bee for the next race day will kick off at 7am this Saturday morning (September 18), bring the usual hardware (rakes, shovels, spades etc) to get the final track touch ups done.
VOLUNTEER CLASS
The volunteer class for this Sunday 19th September is;
ROUND 8 VOLUNTEERS: Senior Open – B Grade (NOTE: B grade only)
Thanks to the volunteers we have been able to keep the track conditions reasonably consistent through the day, eliminating the need to water it heavily before the event. The upgraded hand watering system allows us to get a lot more water on the track making the task easy to manage.
Please note however, it is your responsibility to source a volunteer, the club will not do it for you.

Keeping the track damp is a very important job to keep the dust down not only for the residents but also to keep the riding conditions top notch. The upgraded hand watering system allows us to get a lot more water on the track making the job much easier to manage through the day.
Be aware the volunteer system will be heavily enforced and there will be no second chance. Tonight's scheduled committee meeting at the Showman's Club has been cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. Next meeting will be Tuesday 3rd of August at 7.00pm.
We have been getting a great response from members at each working bee. It is common to hear great feedback on the track condition for race days and the many volunteers at the can certainly take some of the credit. Sunday June 13th is round 5 of our club race series. The working bee will commence as usual on Saturday 12th at 7am, bring along rakes, shovels, spades etc and help get the track up to scratch.
Thanks must go out to the A Grade Open class who did a great job providing volunteers at the last club day. Keeping the track damp is a very important job to keep the dust down not only for the residents but also to keep the riding conditions top notch. Thanks to Allan Steer, the upgrades to the hand watering system allow us to get a lot more water on the track making the job much easier to manage through the day.

This weekend is round 4 of our club race series. The working bee will commence as usual on Saturday at 7am, bring along rakes, shovels, spades etc and help get the track up to the usual high standard for our riders.
At the last race meet, Round 3, the A Grade Open class riders decided to test how flexible the rules were and no rider came prepared to fulfil their commitment. So as advised at the riders briefing on the day, the volunteer system will now be heavily enforced on race days and there will be no second chance. Basically, any rider of the allocated class that presents their entry at registration without a volunteer available to sign in will find that their ENTRY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Mick was a family man, where motorbikes and motocross was a family affair. Whether Race day or Practice; Mick was there supporting and encouraging his kids with their riding.
As well, Mick was a solid contributor to the Albert & District Motorcycle Club; always at working bee’s and committee meetings, and often hand watering the track on practice days. He gave selflessly of himself, so that all members could enjoy the facility at its best.
As a club, we extend our sincere condolences to Vanessa, Jake and Ella, and offer our genuine support to them in the future.
RIP ol mate.
A funeral service will be held for Mick at St Mary’s Catholic Community Church, 185 Billinghurst Crescent, Upper Coomera on Wednesday 14 April at 1.00pm (the Church is inside the School grounds).
A Wake will be held for Mick at Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club on Tambourine Oxenford Rd, following the funeral service.
Race day on Sunday 18 April will be dedicated to Mick and his family.
